Welcome to Tooling Development, where precision meets passion. Founded by Peter Plank in South Africa in 1987, our journey began with a focus on tooling and fixturing. Peter’s dedication to excellence laid the foundation for our family business’s success.
In 1996-1997, the Plank family, along with the business, embarked on a new chapter in Canada. With a handful of loyal customers, we quickly gained traction, expanding our offerings to include product development and low production runs of CNC machining.
As demand surged, so did our commitment to innovation. With Val Plank, joining the team in an administrative capacity, we fortified our operations to meet growing customer needs. Automation became our ally, empowering us to scale our processes and deliver larger production runs without compromising quality.
A decade ago, Kristian Plank, joined the company full-time, bringing a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship. While our roots remain in fixture and tooling design/manufacturing, our evolution has seen us diversify into a myriad of services, each executed with the same precision and passion instilled by our roots.

All the equipment we operate has been purchased new and is being maintained to the highest standards. We are a dedicated punch and you will get good value for your Money. If you approach us with a job for which we are not well suited, we will tell you, and if possibly, point you in the right direction.
